This internationally renowned ensemble performs Qawwali music, traditionally only performed by men. Ilahi carries on the torch of ecstatic mysticism through this initiative by Tahir Qawwal and Alexandra Amie at Samā School of Music, with the blessing of the lineage holders with whom Tahir studied in depth for 25 years. Being the leader and founder of Fanna-fi-Allah, Tahir Qawwal has enthralled audiences with his passionate style and musical precision the world over since 2001. As passed on by his masters, the women of Ilahi sing the Sufi Saints’ ancient poetic compositions about divine love, union, loss, and yearning.
