Milind Sheorey

Milind Sheorey, hailing from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, is a distinguished bansuri artist with a deep-rooted passion for Hindustani classical music. He began playing the flute at the age of ten and formally trained under the guidance of the late Pt. P.J. Bagadadev, a disciple of Pt. Vijaya Raghav Rao.

In 1989, Milind came under the tutelage of Vidushi Annapurna Devi of the Maihar Gharana, with whom he rigorously studied dhrupad, khayal, and thumri styles on the bansuri for eight years. A purist in his approach, Milind is renowned for performing rare ragas on the bansuri, such as Gaud Malhar, Shree, and Kedar.

A recipient of the National Scholarship for classical music (1993–95), Milind has delivered notable performances at events such as Aarambh in Bhopal (1991), the Acharya Allauddin Khan Music Circle in Mumbai (1993), and an international tour with Trilok Gurtu in Norway (2004). His artistry continues to inspire and uphold the traditions of Indian classical music.
