Muazzam Ali Khan is the son of Mujahid Mubarak Ali Khan, He has been performing as Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali Group since the late 1990s. He played His first major concert with his brother Rizwan in 1998 at the Womad Rivermead Festival in Reading, England.
The two brothers' (Muazzam Ali Khan And Rizwan) lead singers team come from a direct family line of Qawwali music that spans over five centuries. Mubarak Ali Khan was their grandfather And uncle of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and taught Nusrat the art of qawwali vocal music. They studied under the supervision of their father, Mujahid Mubarak Ali Khan, who died in 1996, and were then tutored by their uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
