Ustad Waris Ali Khan, affectionately known as Ballu Khan, was a distinguished Pakistani tabla and dholak maestro of the Punjab gharana. The son of the legendary percussionist Ustad Bashir Khan, he carried forward a rich musical legacy through his exceptional command of rhythm in Hindustani classical, Sufi, and folk traditions. Throughout his illustrious career, he accompanied many of Pakistan's greatest musicians and gained international recognition as a member of the Coke Studio Pakistan House Band and a featured artist with Sachal Studios. A regular performer at the All Pakistan Music Conference, Ballu Khan was widely admired for his sensitive accompaniment, rhythmic virtuosity, and enduring contribution to Pakistan's classical music heritage.
