Vidushi Shubhangi Sakhalkar is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist and guru, with over thirty years of experience in teaching and performing. She began her musical training with Smt. Kunda Vaishampayan and later studied under the legendary Dr. Prabha Atre and Smt. Padma Talwalkar. Shubhangi has assimilated the best characteristics of three gharanas—Gwalior, Kirana, and Jaipur—into her unique vocal style. Based in the Bay Area of the USA, she has performed widely across India and the U.S., and she is recognized as one of the finest exponents of Hindustani classical music in North America. Shubhangi founded the Intonation Foundation to nurture and promote Hindustani classical music in North America, organizing the annual Ustad Amir Khan Music Festival to showcase talent.
